FREDDIE C. BROWN

Freddie C. Brown, 74, of Atlanta, went to be with Lord Saturday, Oct. 21, 2017, in an Atlanta hospital.
He was born Dec. 3, 1942, in Miller County, Ark., to Abner and Opal Brown. He was retired from Welch Gas and was a member of West Side Baptist Church in Atlanta, where he loved spending time helping in many capacities including disaster relief. He enjoyed spending time fishing, hunting, camping and farming. He was an avid Texas sports fan and loved the Arkansas Razorbacks and the Atlanta Rabbits football.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Bertie Wunderlich; and a brother, James “Buster” Brown.
He is survived by his wife, Bobbie Brown of Atlanta; two sons, Tommy Brown and wife Jeanine of Atlanta and Timmy Brown of Atlanta; a daughter, Jessica Kimmey of Metairie, La.; a sister, Betty Cutshall of Doddridge, Ark.; four grandchildren, Matt Brown of Wake Village, Kay Lynn Brown of Texarkana, Jonathan Brown of Greenville and Bethany Keppel and husband Kyle of Oklahoma City, Okla.; one great-grandchild, Maddie Paige Brown; and a number of other relatives.
Visitation was from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 27, at Hanner Funeral Service.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28, at West Side Baptist Church with Bro. Jim Howard officiating. Interment followed at the Olive Branch Cemetery under the direction of under the direction of Hanner Funeral Service.

RONALD E. DUKE
Sept. 13, 1937 - Oct. 20, 2017
Ronald E. Duke, 80, of Atlanta, went to be with the Lord Friday, Oct. 20, 2017, at his residence.
He was born Sept. 13, 1937, in Waco, to Joe and Ruth Duke. He was retired from Pine Lodge Nursing Home, was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Texarkana and was former member of First Baptist Church in Atlanta. In his younger years he enjoyed spending time coaching Little League Baseball.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Pritchard Duke of Atlanta; two daughters, Dana Brooks of Texarkana, Jessica Duke Mooneyham and husband D. J. of Nash; a brother, Rodger Duke and wife Barbara of Austin; five grandchildren, Daniel Wheaton and wife Kristin, Ty Mooneyham, Cameron Mooneyham, Ryland Mooneyham and Garrett Durmon; three great-grandchildren, Ally Robinson, Breeley Wright and Bronx Wheaton; and a number of other relatives.
Visitation was from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 23, at Hanner Funeral Service.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 24, n the Hanner Funeral Chapel with Bro. Wallace Edgar officiating. Interment will be in Pine Crest Cemetery under the direction of Hanner Funeral Service.
JAMES ‘JIM’ SANDERS
Jan. 1, 1950 - Oct. 13, 2017
James “Jim” Sanders, 67, of Atlanta, died Oct. 13, 2017, at his residence.
He was born Jan. 1, 1950, in Nacogdoches, to Charlie and Dorothy “Dot” Sanders. He was retired from Southwestern Bell Communications and served in the U. S. Navy Reserve.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charlie Ray Sanders.
He is survived by his two sons, Cody Sanders and wife Cari of Longview and Brian Stewart and wife Wendy of Colleyville; a daughter, Brandy Johnson and husband Courtney of Atlanta; mother, Dorothy Smith of Grand Prairie; sister, Dina Gibson and husband Douglass of Grand Prairie; six grandchildren, Hannah Sanders, Lainee Sanders, Caysen Sanders, Madisyn Sanders, Drew Stewart and Claire Stewart; one great-grandchild, Hudson Valenzuela; and a number of other relatives.
Memorial services were at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 21, in the Hanner Funeral Chapel with Bro. Cody Howard officiating.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Hanner Funeral Service.

Marie Loyd, 78, of Avinger, died Monday, Oct. 16, 2017.
Funeral services were at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 18, at First Baptist Church in Avinger. Interment followed at Avinger Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home of Hughes Springs.
