Queen City’s Lady Bulldogs opened the season with a 6-game winning streak before losing back-to-back games to solid teams in a tournament shortly after Thanksgiving week.
The Lady Bulldogs have not lost a contest since and currently sit at (16-2, 5-0) with a 2-year district record of 19-0.
Queen City won district for the first time in 40 years last season and seem to be primed for another.
Jan. 2, Queen City topped district rival New Boston, 58-51.
Both teams entered the match undefeated in district play. Jessica Jones put up 16 points, Jacie Lance added 15 and Madi Jones posted 14.
The JV team lost a, 31-23, decision to the Lady Lions. Madison Dunn and Chloe Philippi both scored six points each for Queen City.
Jan. 5, the 17th ranked Lady Bulldogs beat Redwater, 62-44. Jessica Jones scored a game-high 33 points, Jacie Lance put up 19 and CeCe Walker added eight points with her 17 rebounds.
QC played Hooks Tuesday night and hosts the Lady Bears of DeKalb this Friday night at Queen City High School.
The Lady Rabbits began district play Jan. 5, with a big, 82-30, win over Pittsburg at Atlanta High School.
Atlanta took a commanding, 20-3, lead into the second quarter and a solid, 41-14, lead into halftime.
The Lady Rabbs outscored Pitt, 41-16, in the second half to seal the 52-point shellacking.
Keyona Easter scored a game-high 38 points, Sheveonia Smith added 18 and Brittany Collins 10.
Jan. 5, McLeod hosted county-rival Linden-Kildare in district play. L-K jumped out to a, 22-12, first quarter lead enroute to a, 76-65 win.
Trevor Deel scored 19 points for McLeod, Zach Prince added 15 and Casey Smith 10.
Ja’Kevian Rose scored 32 for L-K, LaDavion Johnson 18 and Ty Patterson 10.
The Lady Longhorns topped L-K, 55-32.
Shelby Davis scored 16 points, Jilian Ellis 13 and Selena Moon 11.
Skylar Vaughn led L-K with 12 points, Siarra Johnson added eight and Makayla Martin five.
